By accessing or using our website and services, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

1. Overview
The George Local Directory provides an online platform where local businesses in George can list their services, contact details, and related information to increase their online visibility and connect with customers.
2. Listing Eligibility
To create a listing, you must:
- Be a legitimate business or service provider operating in or serving the George area.
- Provide accurate, up-to-date, and truthful information.
- Comply with all local and national business laws and regulations.
The George Local Directory reserves the right to review, edit, or remove listings that:
- Contain misleading, false, or inappropriate content.
- Promote illegal, offensive, or unethical services or materials.
- Violate community standards or third-party rights.
3. Fees & Payment
- Listing Fee: R120.00 per year (valid for 12 months).
- Payments are securely processed via PayFast (https://www.payfast.co.za).
- Renewal reminders will be sent prior to expiry.
- Non-payment or expiry of your membership will result in suspension or removal of your listing.
All payments are non-refundable once the listing is approved and published.
4. Membership & Account Access
When registering for an account, you agree to:
- Maintain accurate contact details.
- Keep your login credentials secure.
- Be responsible for any activity under your account.
We may suspend or terminate your account if we detect misuse, fraudulent activity, or violation of these Terms.
5. Content Ownership & Usage
- You retain ownership of the text, images, and other content you upload.
- By submitting content, you grant the George Local Directory a non-exclusive license to display, promote, and share your listing across our platforms and marketing campaigns.
- We may use your business information in local promotions (e.g., social media or printed directories) to increase exposure.
6. Accuracy & Responsibility
While we aim to maintain accurate listings, we do not guarantee the accuracy or reliability of any user-generated content.
Businesses are solely responsible for ensuring their listing remains current and accurate.
7. Directory Promotions & Marketing
We may promote listings via:
- Social media channels
- Email newsletters
- Printed editions (launching January 2026)
- Local marketing collaborations
Participation in promotions is optional but may occur automatically for active members unless opted out.
8. Limitation of Liability
The George Local Directory, its owners, or affiliates shall not be liable for:
- Any direct or indirect losses arising from listing information or website downtime.
- Any business disputes between directory users and service providers.
Use of the platform is at your own discretion and risk.
9. Updates & Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform indicates acceptance of any changes.
